Yup, I am about to flame Tanner.
Dude is turning into a "turd" of sorts in my eyes. Ask Mirra what he thinks after yesterday as well.
Tanner rolled in a qualifier and then missed the LCQ because his car needed to be spec'd after the wreck. Final round he drives Mirra off the track after diving hot into a hairpin. Before one lap was over Tanner dives into the start/finish line and takes out two other cars. Thus he was black flagged. Interview has him in tears almost saying that the throttle stuck on both accounts.
I respect the guy, I really do. I think of him as a non-douchebaggery type of driver like some other Gymkhana drivers who try to WRC it and fail every time. But Tanner seems too hungry anymore and I believe he is losing his edge of great driving and handing it off to thirst for #1 and throwing caution to the wind.
Maybe I am being hard but I really have liked his career.
Discuss.....

I gotta say I was not impressed with Tanner's driving at this round. He seemed to kamikaze into the turns and ruined many other driver's day especially Mirra who had looked promising all weekend in the MINI

I was pretty impressed with Mirras form as he hasn't been all that tidy in stage rally, or GRC for that matter. Maybe the Mini has more under the hood than his previous Subies had. I did feel kind of bad for him after he got booted by Tanner.
As for Tanner, meh, he got pinched into the water barriers and was driving pretty hard in the final stint to make up positions. Also, Tanner Foust, he's never raced in the WRC, unlike Ken Block, who has posted quite a few top 10 stage times in WRC and even finished 8th at WRC Mexico.

From what I know the MINI runs a 1.6 liter engine so it's actually down on power a bit compared to the other cars but it also is lighter so I'm guessing it suits Mirra's driving better. I was bummed Mirra got taken out since he looked in great form all weekend

Tanner has not entered WRC (yet) because he knows what he should race unlike Block who is a Gymkhana fanboi turned "I wanna try the real stuff"now.
He has his moments but in general Block+WRC=Epic Fail. He needs to stay with going in circles and wearing gold teeth.

Haha. I think you're overestimating what Block set out to accomplish in WRC, which was nothing. He races WRC to have fun and nothing else. Considering he's doing it on his own dime, I'd say that's quite a feat unto itself.

Yup, I am sure it is "his dime", lol....... Monster, DC and Ford who?!?!?!
Back to Tanner - he had a craptastic weekend, plain and simple.

Big difference between having sponsors and having full factory support from Ford, but yeah, Tanner didn't have the greatest weekend for sure.
